Culture

CONCEPT OF CULTURE:
The system of shared beliefs, values, customs, behaviors, and artifacts that the members of society use to cope with their world and with one another, and that are transmitted from generation to generation through learning.
Culture is the way of life of a social group, the group's total man made environment including all the material and nonmaterial products of group life that are transmitted from one generation to the next.
DEFINITION OF CULTURE:
The classic definition of culture by Edward B Taylor:
"That complex whole which includes knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, custom and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society .
According to Kroeber
“Culture consists of patterns, explicit and implicit of and for behavior acquired and transmitted by symbols constituting the distinctive achievements of human groups including their embodiments in artifacts; the essential core of culture consists of traditional ideas and especially their attached values.
